about

Happa is back with a 3 part series called Explorations In Music For Dancing. Within this new series, Happa will break down, analyse and genetically modify dance music’s framework - each EP will research a different area of dancefloor DNA. As you can tell, it’s extremely scientific.

To aid him in his research, Happa has recruited his fellow scientist and collaborator, Caitlin Mcloughlin, who has developed the visual identity for the EP. Starting with the steamy red cover art, Caitlin has approached the visuals in a way that’s synonymous with Happa’s approach to his production on all three tracks. Frustrated by the restricting formats of a digital download, Caitlin’s visual output extends far beyond the square format cover art. A mock typeface and specimen are both available as a free download with the EP. Designed by Caitlin, the typeface was first moulded out of plasticine, reflecting the playful nature of the project, whilst the specimen acts as a space to document their process and explore the influences and building blocks for the series.
